Rizoma is my personal project that I'm developing for a future webcomic. The idea came during a difficult time in my life.
But why Rizoma (Rhizome)?
Rhizome is often taken as being synonymous with “root”. The word is associated with postmodern theorists Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari, who use the rhizome to describe a process of existence and growth that does not come from a single central point of origin. A rhizome does not start from anywhere or end anywhere; it grows from everywhere, and is the same at any point. As such, a rhizome has no center, which makes it difficult to uproot or destroy.
In botany, a rhizome is a modified subterranean plant stem that sends out roots and shoots from its nodes.
Having said this, the meaning of the name can be understood as something hidden, which grows underground and whose development remains unchanged.
Characters
THE LOST CHILD
The protagonist of the story.
He wakes up in a strange forest where there seems to be a mystery connected to the empty ringing phones.
He will wander in search of answers and in his journey he will get to know the other characters.
THE NYMPH
A strange tree creature.
Despite her unusual appearance can be intimidating, she does not appear to be aggressive. She doesn't talk much about herself and seems to be lost in distant thoughts.
